Packages, Margin Pricing & Configurable Options

The VPS and Dedicated modules resell OVH's own addon catalog — paid OS licenses (Windows, Plesk, cPanel), disk/RAM upgrades, backups, hardware addons — at your margin, without you maintaining a single price by hand. Public Cloud has no addon catalog, so nothing in this article applies to it (its instance price is just the Blesta package price).

The Options Margin (%)

Every VPS/Dedicated package has an Options Margin (%) field. Each synced option is priced at:

Blesta price = OVH catalog price × (1 + margin / 100)

rounded to 2 decimals. Example: margin 20 sells a 10.00 OVH option for 12.00. The margin applies to options only — the base package price is whatever you set on the Blesta package pricing.

The daily sync

The Sync OVH VPS Option Prices / Sync OVH Dedicated Server Option Prices cron task runs daily and, for every package assigned directly to a module row (packages assigned via a module group are not synced — pick a specific OVH Account row on the package instead):

  1. Reads the addon catalog for the package's plan from the OVH API.
  2. Creates or updates one configurable option group per package, named OVH VPS - {package name} or OVH Dedicated - {package name} (Packages > Options).
  3. Fills it with one select per addon family, priced with your margin, and assigns the group to the package automatically.

Because the sync re-reads OVH's prices every day, your option prices follow OVH's automatically — raise or lower your cut by editing the package's margin, not the options.

Don't hand-edit the synced options (names, values or prices) — the next daily sync rebuilds them from the OVH catalog. Package-level settings (margin, plan, defaults) are yours; the option group contents are the module's.

What clients see

On the order form, clients pick from the synced options like any Blesta configurable option; their choices are ordered from OVH as part of the same auto-paid order. On Eco dedicated plans the mandatory families (RAM, storage, bandwidth) always order something — the client's choice, or the package's default addon if they choose nothing.

Cron tasks at a glance

Module Task Interval
OVH VPS Check OVH VPS Orders 5 minutes
OVH VPS Sync OVH VPS Option Prices daily
OVH Dedicated Servers Check OVH Dedicated Server Orders 5 minutes
OVH Dedicated Servers Sync OVH Dedicated Server Option Prices daily
OVH Public Cloud Sync OVH Public Cloud Instances 5 minutes

All are Module tasks under Settings > Company > Automation and require the main Blesta cron to be running. The 5-minute tasks are what move services from pending to active — if new services sit pending forever, check the cron first.
